FULL ITINERARY OF TRIP

DAY ONE

Depart from your home area, travelling to Devon, arriving late afternoon at Copthorne Plymouth. 4 nights stay – dinner, bed & breakfast. Tea/coffee and biscuits on arrival.

DAY TWO

Our first visit is to the Grade II listed port of Charlestown, featured in TV’s popular drama series ‘Poldark’. The harbour was built in the 18th century to support the China clay and copper mining industries. We then continue our travel along the coast to the lovely town of Fowey with its narrow streets and gorgeous harbour views.

DAY THREE

The morning is free for you to explore our base – the historic city of Plymouth. Take a stroll around the famous Hoe, visit the Barbican Steps and browse around the city centre shops. This afternoon we head to Plymouth Gin Distillery and experience an hour guided distillery tour. One of the oldest working distilleries in England, we learn about its history and the process it takes to produce gin since 1793. To finish the experience there will also be an opportunity to taste the gin.

DAY FOUR

Our day out today takes us to the city of Exeter. The focus point is the stunning Cathedral, a mixture of Roman and Gothic architecture, well worth a visit. Take a stroll to the riverside and visit the Maritime Museum, the Royal AlbertMemorial Museum and underground passages in High Street. This afternoon we travel to Killerton House, here we have free time to explore this family home and great estate. We are able to learn about the history of the house and why its owners passed it on to the National Trust due to political beliefs.

DAY FIVE

After breakfast we leave and head for home.
