DAY 1: Depart from your home area in the morning, travelling to South West Wales and arrive in the late afternoon at the Imperial Hotel Tenby. 4-night stay – dinner, bed and breakfast.
DAY 2: Today is free to explore our resort base of Tenby at your leisure. It is renowned for its lovely golden beaches and picturesque harbour. Explore the old town walls, interesting little side streets and alleyways. Perhaps visit Tenby Museum and Art Gallery or just take in the views and explore the boutique shops and cafes of this beautiful resort.
DAY 3: After a leisurely breakfast, we journey through the Teifi Valley to the National Wool Museum. Historically, the wool trade was the most important and widespread industry in Wales with the Teifi Valley the centre of this thriving economy. The museum shares the story of this trade and shows the process of weaving magic – turning fleece into fabric. After our visit, we travel to Carmarthen, the oldest city in Wales. We have some free time to sightsee here and obtain lunch. This afternoon we visit the National Botanic Garden of Wales. Explore an inspiring range of tropical-themed gardens in temperature-controlled greenhouses to bring a splash of tropics to our Spring time visit.
DAY 4: After breakfast, we enjoy a scenic drive along the coast to the smallest city in Britain, St. Davids. Named after the patron saint of Wales, it is dominated by its 12th-century cathedral. Enjoy free time at leisure with the option of browsing the small independent stores, exploring St. Davids Cathedral or visiting the Oriel y Parc Gallery which displays national works of art. (Entry to both castle and gallery are free of charge). On the afternoon we return via a stop in Haverfordwest the county town of Pembrokeshire. Enjoy free time at leisure to explore, key highlight is the medieval castle.
DAY 5: After breakfast, we leave and begin our journey home.
